After we thanked Isabel and Urs for a lovely day, we drove to Copey for some internet connectivity, as we do. We sat in the SUV, in the rain, and I called Phoenix on the Magic Jack. Today, the reception was a lot better. Not perfect, there was still some static, but better than last week. It was so nice to chat about her new job, her recent photography shoots and to simply hear the happiness in her voice. She sounded so positive. Then I called Jude. He's doing well at school and said he was going to make this his year. And he is drawing again. When he was younger, I used to buy him large sketch pads and he used to draw all the time... he was mostly interested in drawing Bionicle-type figures or WarHammer characters, but then he lost interest. Recently, he's picked it up again. He told me there were a few new drawings that he posted on Facebook, so as soon as we hung up, I checked them out. It appears he's stretching his repertoire and now drawing people. I think they're great! (I have no artistic talent myself, and I might be biased). Hearing my kids' voices gives me such a lift. Then after dinner, my parents called. We were having a nice conversation about my intentions of using the outdoor wood oven for making bread, and then, I don't know what happened, but the line suddenly cut off. Maybe the rain or the wind caused some interference. I'm sure we'll be in touch again next week. Since discovering the internet signal in Copey, my mum and I have been emailing nearly every day. I think we're more in touch now then when we lived only two hours away. Funny how that happens.

My husband, Kevin, and I are from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. We decided to leave the cold winters of the Great White North and the hustle and bustle of our busy lives to reinvent ourselves in the beautiful mountains of Costa Rica. The planning stage started in June 2011 and we embarked on our new adventure on August 23, 2012. Welcome to our journey... enjoy the ride.
