Kevin and Nacho picked up our 10 lovely hens. They're brown and so soft. I never thought of them as soft before. They're really quite beautiful. We're telling ourselves we shouldn't get too attached to them, but they've only been here a few hours and we're already quite smitten. I bet by tomorrow we'll have names for all of them. We introduced Frankie to them, and to say she was preoccupied is an understatement. Our poor girls were just settling into their new 5-star hotel and then came Frankie to ruffle their feathers. Life is hard. We removed (peeled) Frankie away from the hen house and hope that she will eventually get bored, like she did with Paloma. Paloma is often in sight and Frankie can't be bothered to give her any notice let alone a bark now. Fingers crossed the same thing will happen with our hens. We don't want them all stressed out preventing them from laying those eggs, do we now.

My husband, Kevin, and I are from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. We decided to leave the cold winters of the Great White North and the hustle and bustle of our busy lives to reinvent ourselves in the beautiful mountains of Costa Rica. The planning stage started in June 2011 and we embarked on our new adventure on August 23, 2012. Welcome to our journey... enjoy the ride.
