Although the tour lasted the usual hour and a half, it seemed to knock the wind right out of our sails. We were beat after that. It didn't rain at all yesterday. It threatened to, and spat for about 5 minutes, but that's about it. It remained cloudy all afternoon, but no rain.
It was another gorgeous morning, today. And hot. I spent all morning working on three more avocado trees: removing all the weeds and tall grass around their trunk and roots. I have four more to go. It's a big job. I'll be happy when it's all done. Kevin, meanwhile, was working on rebuilding the carport. He was cutting all the wood pieces that will brace the overhang. It's coming along nicely.
By noon, it was pouring. One minute it's blue skies without a cloud in the sky and within 10 minutes, we're in the middle of a downpour. It's so strange how quickly it can all change. You'd think we'd be used to it by now, but we're always amazed. I made us some BLT sandwiches for lunch. Then later, Kevin played soccer for the first time in a year. The game was played in an indoor arena, except 'indoor' means outside with a roof. If it rains, you don't get wet, that's the extent of it. The field is smaller, too. I went to watch since we were meeting Catalina and her husband Gogui for dinner (a belated birthday dinner for Kevin). Kevin played really well, although he'd tell you he didn't. He twisted his angle at one point and now his whole leg is very sore. He's been asked to join the league, but I think he'll have to see how he mends first. He might be completely out of commission tomorrow... we'll see.
